Thoughts are so strong it keeps on coming in our mind in a loop even though we don’t want to think. This will be most of the time ‘Negative Thinking’.

Negatives Thinking: Continuous thinking about those thoughts unconsciously or consciously again and again within your head is called negative thinking and it leads to overthinking.

Overthinking unconsciously: Thoughts which are not true and does not exists in the current situation and we try to analyse what would be the effect if circumstances goes bad or problem arises. In reality there is no challenge at all.

Overthinking consciously: Involves thinking about a certain subject or situation extremely, analysing it for long periods of time. While some people believe that overthinking may be helpful since it involves looking at an issue or problem from nearly every viewpoint possible and anticipating future events. When you overthink, you have a hard time getting your mind to concentrate on anything else. It becomes used up by the one thing you are thinking about.

We may keep overthinking about all the things that could go wrong in upcoming aspects of life and yet times you imagine the worst in situation which is not actual and as per the law of attraction you get where you give the energy or attention. Because of this, negative effects can be seen in people behaviour.

Overthinking is also depended on our upbringings during our childhood times and our mental conditioning, beliefs which are programmed in our brain, our acceptance in our society, quality of education and our access to lifestyle.

Different Types of Negative Thinking or Overthinking:

Coming to assumption: Concluding how the events will turn out or how other will think.

Catastrophizing: Assuming negative outcome will happen without accepting realistic outcomes.

Overgeneralization: Defining past negative experience in our future upcoming experiences.

Emotional Reasoning: Assuming something to be true as per our emotional response.

Personalization and blame: This thought pattern involves taking things personally, even when they are not personal. It often leads people to blame themselves for things they have no control over.

Effects of Negative thoughts or overthinking:

  • Depression and Panic Disorder.
  • Endless state of Worry, Anxiety and Stress.
  • Usually leads to inaction because of overwhelmed by Fear.
  • Fatigue, Headaches, Body Aches and Stomach problems.
  • Difficulty in Concentrating, Trouble in Sleeping, Restlessness.

Because of these above issues negative manifestation happens , thinks which we don’t like or don’t want.

How can we deal with Negative thoughts or overthinking:

  • We can we have some control of our thoughts by being mindfulness, conscious of our thoughts.
  • Become aware of how your thoughts are impacting your emotions and behaviours. Observe your thoughts. Ask yourself if this thought is helpful? What purpose is the thought serving you?
  • Become gatekeeper of your thoughts of Present, Past and Future. (This does not mean we should not think about our present and future. Be mindful, plan your present and future expectation in terms of goals and dream and come out and start taking action).
  • Admit the thought and remember it is just a though but not actual situation. Once you deal in mindful way of a particular situation thought, choice is to find a solution about it or if it is not important let it go. In this way peace can be brought in our life.
  • In sudden challenging situation try to calm your panic mind first. Then analyse the situation with facts. If solution seems impossible then accept the fact and acknowledge. However, in such condition we are not the best person to judge it, rather take experienced or expert help.
  • Yet times distracting from situation can bring in unknown solution to the challenges. This is because brain works best in clam state.
  • Working on Interpersonal skills, practicing self-acceptance, meditation or expert therapy can help to overcome negative or overthinking.

Conclusion:

After reading this you might thinking it will be herculin task or challenging circumstances might not allow to achieve and it is normal to think like that. It is because our mind will reject the idea because we were never trained to be objective. Everyone who has risen from nothing to everything has gone through this process.

As a question to yourself, do you want to stay were you are with same mindset which is limited, or whether you want to take control of our yourself and mind and train it differently and live a life abundance. Try once with consistency, with pure intent and a goal to be better version of yourself and you will see the differences. There will no instant results but with steady approach you will be a positive person and it will be embedded in DNA and become your way of living life as you continue and achieve great heights in life.

Here are two best tools which I used in my life to change mental patterns and you too can. Trust me!
